Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology, Mwanza Campus/Tanzania, Training Programme

While UNIDO is not an educational institution, and main aim is technology transfer, supplementary training and capacity building tailored to specific needs of local counterparts of different backgrounds is an essential part of technology transfer. Apart from training activities enhancement and upgrading of support R&D and training institution is very important  integral part of the UNIDO activities. Rapid development and especially information and communication technology (ICT) is used during recent years more and more also for development of training/learning material. Main concept is to use available technology to improve and increase learning efficiency by using and adopting appropriate tools. Conventional training/teaching/learning methods and routinely suggested course durations, forms and arrangements suit neither today’s (to be) employees and industrial operations.  This was reason to develop animated eLearning course Footwear Pattern Engineering. Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology, Mwanza Campus launched first training using the Footwear pattern Engineering course developed by UNIDO. First course was held on 16 June 2014 and attended by 16 trainees. Participants will benefit from enhanced courses and training provided by DIT – lectures with new more elaborated content and practical training.
