Hair Saving Liming - Pilot Demonstration Unit - Hazaribagh/Bangladesh
Hair-save unhairing method in leather processing accompanied by the use of cleaner technologies in all other stages of the processing contributes to substantial improvements in the waste water discharge.
Dissolving the hair results in hogh organic pollution in the wastewaster. With increasingly stringent environment requirements, it has become necessary to reduce the pollution load in wastewater as much as possible. This may be done by treating the wastewater biologically: an expensive undertaking. Moreover, wastewater treatment generates a large amount of sludge posing disposal problems. For this reason, hair-save unhairing has taken on renewed importance. Today, it is a well-established practice, especially in industrialised countries.
Hair saving Pilot Demonstration Unit demonstrated a possibility to use hair saving liming technology without a necessity to change liming drums. It is possible to adjust ordinary liming drums.
